With more than 300 parks covering 21.5% of South Australia, there is much to explore. Other states and countries also have marine conservation areas.
South Australian marine areas boast iconic species such as the southern right whale, bottlenose dolphin, leafy sea dragon, great white shark, Australian pelican, little penguin, Australian sea lion and giant cuttlefish.
Did you know? Some of South Australia’s marine life is found nowhere else on earth. One example is the vibrant Southern Blue Devil which can live up to 60 years.
